Astro
I built this model on commission for an annual event hosted by Salesforce in summer of 2021. This statue represents Astro Nomical, a mascot from Salesforce’s “Trailhead” educational program. Designed during the month leading up to the event, I assembled Astro—live on Zoom!—over the course of a few hours.
Astro features a sculpted, studs-not-on-top design to create a fuzzy texture
Astro consists of four discrete and slightly pivoting “layers,” giving the character a subtle, organic curve up its spine
Pedestal features textured siding for visual interest and depth, and has luminous heart emblems and stars powered by an internal lamp
Model measures 16” (40cm) tall, and is built from nearly 3000 bricks
Heart logo on front of the pedestal was selected out of three possible options via a Twitter poll during the event
