Beneath the Surface
For Episode 3 of the series, “Cut in Half,” Christian and I assembled Beneath the Surface, a fantastical undersea scene built on the exposed portion of a halved diving helmet.
Model built over the course of 12 hours.
Our half-object was a replica antique diving helmet, which was our first choice.
The scene includes an enormous ten-tentacled Kraken disguised as an island, an unaware micro-scale sailboat, colorful coral designs, textured terrain work, and the pearly-white sunken city of Atlantis.
Features four electrical components: a bobbing ship, swimming fish, moving tentacles, and glowing eyes.
